Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is led by Principal Investigator Michael S. Saag, MD. This group of core investigators is responsible for setting the scientific agenda and directing strategic planning for the UAB 1917 Clinic Cohort.

 

Faculty Investigators

The Faculty Investigators come from numerous Schools and Departments at UAB, as well as multiple cores from the UAB Center for AIDS Research. The diverse backgrounds of team members allows for a broad research portfolio ranging from qualitative studies to economic evaluations to pharmacologic analyses of antiretroviral medications.

 

Research Support Team

The Research Support Team come from diverse training backgrounds and plays a vital role in the implementation of the 1917 Clinic Cohort research agenda. Team members contribute to a broad range of research activities including recruitment and enrollment, data collection, and manuscript and grant preparation.

 

Informatics Team

The Informatics Team is formed by a highly qualified staff of data analysts, programmers and information systems specialists. This group plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality of the 1917 Clinic electronic medical record, as well as developing programs to allow for computed-assisted self-administered (CASI) collection of patient data across a spectrum domains using validated instruments.

 

Recent Trainees

The UAB 1917 Clinic Cohort has a long-standing history of mentoring pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees from Schools and Departments across the UAB campus, as well as visiting trainees from other institutions.
