Riddi Modhi

Riddhi Modi, MBBS, MPH - Research Assistant

Riddhi joined 1917 clinic as a Research Assistant in July 2010. She is a physician and has a MPH concentrating in Epidemiology from Florida International University (FIU). She works with 1917 Clinic Cohort Database Group and Outcomes Research. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Epidemiology at UAB.

Mohit Varshney

 

Mohit Varshney, MPH - Research Assistant

Mohit joined the UAB 1917 Clinic Cohort Team in May of 2007. He is a part of the Quality Control Team, the foundation of the 100% quality control effort recognized by the 2007 "Excellence in Information Integrity Award". Mohit has also participated in numerous research studies with the 1917 Clinic Cohort.

Karen Savage

Karen Savage, RN, CCRC - Research Nurse Manager

Karen has served as the research manager of the 1917 Clinical Trials Unit since May, 2002 and brings over 14 years research experience to the 1917 Clinic Cohort team. Her interests with the Clinic Cohort group include long-term HIV clinical outcomes, with emphasis on outcomes of clinical trial participants vs. patients receiving “real world” standard clinical care.

Tomeka Wilson

Tomeka Wilson, BA, CCRC - Program Coordinator, II (Regulatory)

Tomeka recently joined the 1917 Research Clinic as Program Coordinator II, Regulatory Specialist. This position is responsible for regulatory compliance for all approved 1917 Clinic Research protocols. She has over 3 years experience in clinical regulatory compliance, administration, and review and is certified as a clinical research coordinator. Tomeka is especially excited to be a part of such an extraordinary committed team of qualified professionals. She is interested in providing the highest level of regulatory support, knowledge, direction, and standards to the 1917 Clinic Cohort.

D. Scott Batey

D. Scott Batey, MSW - Behavioral Science Core, CNICS

Mr. Batey joined the CFAR's Behavioral Science Core as the Project Coordinator in June 2007. Mr. Batey has a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He has significant experience in research, and he has been a successful grant-writer during his career in the non-profit setting. Mr. Batey is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Social Work at The University of Alabama; his research interests include pathways to rural substance abuse, HIV/AIDS prevention, and healthcare disparities

Sarah Dougherty

Sarah Dougherty, BA - Behavioral Science Core, CNICS

Sarah graduated from Berea College in Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She started working for the Center for AIDS Research Behavioral Science Core in January 2011. Sarah currently works as a Research Technician on the CNICS project, whose goal is to expand the research capabilities of the existing clinical research network.
